Halloween Cream Cheese Brownies

Halloween Cream Cheese Brownies

Halloween Cream Cheese Brownies are a fun and festive treat perfect for the Halloween season. They feature a rich, fudgy brownie base swirled with a creamy, tangy cream cheese mixture, often tinted with Halloween colors or decorated with spooky designs. Here’s a recipe to make them:

Ingredients:

For the Brownie Base:

  • 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (65 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder

For the Cream Cheese Swirl:

  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (optional, for Halloween colors)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  2. Prepare the Brownie Base:
    • Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
    • Beat in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined. The batter will be thick.
    • Spread the brownie batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  3. Prepare the Cream Cheese Swirl:
    • In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
    • Mix in the egg yolk and vanilla extract until well combined.
    • If desired, divide the cream cheese mixture into separate bowls and add food coloring to each bowl to create Halloween-themed colors.
  4. Swirl the Cream Cheese:
    • Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter.
    • Use a knife or a skewer to swirl the cream cheese mixture into the brownie batter to create a marbled effect.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with only a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
    • The edges should be set and the center slightly puffed.
  6. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting them out using the parchment paper.
    • Cut into squares and serve.

Optional Decorations:

  • For extra Halloween flair, you can sprinkle the top with Halloween-themed sprinkles or edible decorations before baking, or drizzle with melted chocolate after baking.

These Halloween cream cheese brownies are not only delicious but also add a festive touch to your Halloween celebrations. Enjoy!
